Activities
With so much to do and see at Loon Lake, we encourage our groups to plan ahead. Time flies when you're having fun and we want to make sure each member of your group has the time of their life. Groups can choose to provide their own instruction or they can work with our partner, Pinnacle Pursuits .
Pinnacle Pursuits has developed a full Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre at Loon Lake, offering a wide range of activities that focus on positive group experiences and leadership training in the outdoors. Depending on your length of stay and time of year that you visit, Pinnacle Pursuits offers programming for up to 120 youth.
Adventure Pursuits are primarily outdoor, activity based programs. Some of the more popular activities include:
- High ropes challenge course
- Low ropes challenge course
- Survivor pursuits
- Raft building
- Team orienteering adventures
- Canoeing
- Team building
- Rock-climbing
- Rappelling
- Archery
- Ecology & environmental awareness
- Wilderness preparation, safety and survival
Leadership Pursuits tend to be more workshop based, encouraging youth to discover their unique potential as both leaders and members of their community. Pinnacle has adapted a variety of topics and activities to meet requirements for Duke of Edinburgh awards and the Provincial Ministry of Education's Graduation Portfolio.
