APPLIED LEARNING & NATURAL CONNECTIONS FOR YOUTH | 2018
Dear Teachers, Officials, and Youth Group Administrators,
We’re excited to announce that UBC's Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre is now offering affordable, adventurous, and adjustable programming for your next overnight school/youth group stay. Depending on your objectives, our programs can help youth learn about the natural environment, move their body, express their creativity, and practice their problem solving skills.
We refer to our fundamental programming pillars as: Learn, Move, Express, and Solve.
All of our programs are UBC staffed and customized within the framework of your curriculum. All program deliverables are tethered to clear learning outcomes and anchored to natural studies, problem solving, creative expression, and physical movement. In real time, teachers and officials can participate as much, or as little, as they choose, but are required to be present and to help customize the mix&match programming ahead of time.
Costs are $15 per youth/day, include all materials and staffed instruction. Half-days are available for $8 per youth. Costs do not include accommodation or meals and a 1 night minimum group stay is required. Minimum group size is 10.
Our Student Centre lodge offers affordable overnight (dorm-style) accommodation with 3 meals, and rates starting from $75/youth.
*Developmental feedback is what we expect in return. This is the qualitative feedback, from you, that we will use to learn, grow and improve over time. It's an exit survey of sorts. As a place of learning, that means us, too.
